Each of the above points may consist of numerous if not many hundreds and sometimes thousands of options, parts/items etc. All of which are unique to the installation, they are usually sourced from alternative suppliers and made from lots of different manufactures, making the actual list vastly important.
Some items can be replaced with alternative makes and some cannot. Some parts are better suited than others within certain environments and methods of use and sometimes the use of an installation may change leaving design issues and effecting reliability accordingly.
All parts have a limited use, life expectancy and suffer from wear & tear. The condition of each is often important, and as so many parts can cause system failure when they fail, knowing their status and function can improve service.
The gate, the operators and all the equipment, often determines the system’s functionality and suitability to perform as required, within its location. So a clear list of each item and how it is set-up, its performance and suitability needs to be recorded.
