Sliding Gates

GATE-A-MATION is known for two types of sliding gates:

  • Conventional Ground Tracked
  • Cantilever

Both have advantages as well as disadvantages but each will require clearance to open in excess of the opening width. This is to hold itself upright when closed. The higher the level of potential abuse, the larger overhang is recommended.

Please refer to our sliding gate drawing within the Architects Library for guidance.

Most sliding gates require level ground and each, installed correctly, can offer the very best in secure, reliable service.

Each support post is securely concreted into a suitable foundation with duct entry and inspection access for hidden cable runs.

The operator is usually protected by additional support or barriers so as to avoid vehicular impact.

As sliding gates are usually large and move relatively slowly, additional loop safety cover is recommended; this is accentuated with long access roads and or increased vehicle speeds.

Typical projects include:

  • Dockyard Gates
  • Government Buildings
  • Banking European Head Quarters
  • Distribution Warehouses
  • Manufacturing & Engineering Estates
  • Leisure Complexes
  • Agricultural Sites
  • Parks & Monuments
  • Hospitals
  • M.O.D.
  • Local Authorities
  • Airports
  • National Trust
  • Commercial Developers
  • British Telecom
  • The Post Office
  • Utilitiy Companies

The list is constantly growing; all of which may rely on the very best service and response we can offer.

It is recommended all pedestrian traffic is diverted away from a sliding gate area with its own access point provided.
