Safety Review of Existing Systems
Risks to Pedestrians from Electrically Powered Gates
Gate-A-Mation has always been, and will always continue to be, very mindful of Health and Safety matters regarding electric gates, which is why our comprehensive Safety Review Document is an essential tool in risk assessing existing systems.
We have always worked to our own very high standards and published safety information in our sales literature and guidance publications since our inception in 1988, and on our website since its launch in 1995. Consequently, we are proud of our track record in this respect.
Recent events in the national press involving electric gates has caused the industry in general to look closely at the design of the systems it installs to ensure that the highest levels of safety protection are always employed.
Therefore, the safety of existing systems has to be evaluated to make sure that current levels of protection are installed and most importantly that devices are properly adjusted and working to ensure the maximum level of safety and protection possible.
In this connection, we have produced a comprehensive electric gate Safety Review Documentto enable owners of automated gate systems to quickly evaluate the safety of their system and to allow us to prioritise our response according to the score applied to each question.
A copy of our comprehensive Safety Review Document can be viewed or downloaded for completion offline, prior to completing an online version of the document and submitting it to us for evaluation.
It is essential that a Safety Review Document is downloaded and then completed online because it enables us to properly evaluate your system. We will then arrange a site visit if one is deemed necessary from the answers submitted.
Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Notices
We would also like to draw your attention some essential reading published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regarding the risks associated with automated gates.
The first document presents the risks and some background and the second document covers what you need to know and do when specifying and designing a system.
