Buy Cheap, Buy Twice!!!

2009 Figures prove that buying cheaply is a foolhardy practice

During 2009 the Gate-A-Mation service department figures proved that buying automation cheaply is not in the client's best interests!

More and more frustrated phones calls, asking us to help, poured into our service and repair department. On average 5-7 people each week, rang requesting service on their faulty gate system, which we had not installed. The message is clear; cheap systems are not cheap to maintain and have a very short life expectancy, sometimes not even making it through any period of warranty.

Also if a system is put in on a low budget, its design, quality of installation and parts used are all too often compromised. Internally rated cables and inadequate ducting are basic things that are shortchanged. Building & construction materials, the gates, gate furniture, posts, piers, driveways, are all areas that can involve choice and varying quality.

The operators and control circuits can vary with quality, reliability and manufacturer backup. The control equipment and accessories (that may not be obvious when looking into automation) can prove essential parts of the systems function.

Being locked into or out of your property is not amusing and often requires immediate assistance. Poor systems can have poor manual overrides and can be difficult to use, almost always costing more to replace than the original difference between them and a better quality one.

It is easier to cheat a customer by under-selling than it is by over-selling!
